Lemonade/Soda

Last Thursday as in two days ago Chris and I were on our way home from the Petersons and he stopped to get one grape soda, one lemonade and a diet soda for myself. When we got home I had my soda that night and Chris had his grape soda as well. Last night as in Friday Chris and I went out to our friends house, Ed & Jen for supper, and the boys stayed home and enjoyed some yummy ribs, movies and video games. When we got home both the boys were in bed and when Chris went to get his lemonade that he had not yet drank two days ago, it was opened and quite a bit was drunken out of it. He knew it was one of the boys cause it was caked in grease on the outside, from the ribs they had eaten for supper. He still asked me if I had opened it and I said "I didn't even know it was in there" So he proceeded to go into the boys room and ask if either of them had drank it they said no. I was like for real come on.

Today is Saturday and Christopher had some community service hours to finish up. So Marcus, his dad and I headed out to run errands after I got home from work. I flat out asked Marcus " hey did you drink the lemonade?" He said to his dad and I "no I didn't"
Once we got back home from running errands and having lunch Christopher strolled in not to long after. Their dad asked both of them one last time and Christopher still denied it. So at this point Chris put both of them in their room and told them they were not allowed out until who ever did it needed to confess to it. I was able to brew up homemade egg rolls, get them rolled and cooked just in time to Marcus telling his father and I that he would take the blame for the lemonade. I said to him " but you didn't drink it?" Marcus says to us "I know I didn't but Chris said he wasn't going to confess that he did do it now cause he doesn't want to get into trouble." I looked at Chris SR and said "This is a crock of @#*& I can't believe that Christopher is pulling this crap." So we said we would talk more about it after supper.

Here is the whole getter about this whole situation. It's not that we care that they have soda, it's just that we tell them that they need to ask before partaking. For the last 2 years we have been telling Christopher "If you didn't buy it and it's not yours you need to ask before you have it" Plain and simple , to the point right?? Well at least that's what we thought. Christopher is missing the whole principal here. It was his dads soda/lemonade so ask if you wanted some, that is all he had to do. But know he does what he wants no matter who gets hurt in the end. I really just can't believe that he would rather let his brother take the blame for something he didn't do because he does want to get into trouble. If he would have just confessed the first time all he would have gotten was a "Hey if it's not yours don't touch it" form his dad. But no he is sticking to his guns, sitting in his room with his brother choosing to keep them both into trouble. How far will one go to before the truth comes out, or confess the truth cause we already know what he did.

So Marcus has to suffer even though you know that he didn't do it and you know for a fact that Christopher did? Interesting, yet unfair. Why not make Christopher do some senseless task like load and unload the dishwasher 20 times in a row for no reason other than to prove a point that its useless to lie. Or walk up and down the stairs 50 times, proving the same point...its useless to lie.
