Busy Bee

Busy as a Bee

Well things are starting to get really busy around here. I have been running around the last couple of days getting this license and that license to be legal to booth rent. But it will be worth it in the long run, I can't wait. We also found out that the people that want to take over the house when we leave, want to move in the same weekend we are moving out. That gives absolutely no time to clean the way we would want. But oh well what can we do? I am not to worried about it just as long as we get our deposit back, which we will. Other then that we have a busy weekend ahead of us. Christopher has a back to school dance tomorrow, and on Saturday I have a wedding to do the hair for and then we, the three of us are attending the wedding. It will be alot of fun, most of the people we went camping with for five days will be there. Then on Sunday we are going to start to make runs to our storage unit and really get stuff rolling on moving. Lets not leave out that school starts on Tuesday the 2nd!!! Yeah!!!

Rainy Day

Crossing the road on a rainy day
© Photographer: Judy | Agency: Dreamstime.com

It was a rainy day here today. Cold, gray and just down right wet. But it was nice to have a relaxing, stay at home rainy day. I sat on the couch and worked on my client cards. Organizing, transferring and putting them into piles of those who needed to be added to my label disk. Oh and lets not forget I got to watch my girlie movies while doing this. It was great. Where was Chris you may be wondering?? Well he went on a camping trip and hadn't got back yet. So needles to say it was some alone time. But at the same time I did miss Chris. Other then that there wasn't to much that went on around here over the weekend. But next weekend will be crazy. We have a wedding and packing and moving etc.........

Inconsiiderate People.

Hey you
© Photographer: Kati1313 | Agency: Dreamstime.com

Are you kidding me??? So yesterday this girl came into the salon and made an appointment to get a foil and a haircut, it was booked with me. Then she called and canceled and then a few hours later she actually came in and we talked about her hair and she re-booked her appointment for 9am today. I get to work early, and before I know it, it's 9:30. Oh I am pissed. Why is it that people feel that it's ok to no show and/or no call their appointment??????? Why, Why. Not only is it a waste of my time waiting at least 15 minutes before I can no show them but it messes with my money. And that to me is not cool. Also to add to the matter I had turned away three people for haircuts, waiting for my appointment to show. Those poor souls who had to go somewhere else and pay who knows what. And only what the good lord knows what they may have walked out of there with. I mean I rank getting your hair done up there with a doctors appointment. Your doctors day runs on a time schedule, well people so does ours. Why do people not have the respect to at least call and cancel the appointment??? Especially when they know they are not going to show up, come on people......... Ok enough on that note, Chris and I are getting more and more prepared for our move in a couple of weeks. I am getting prepared to move salons, and Christopher ( Chris's son ) I hope is mentally getting prepared for school to start soon. Yep he is going to be a freshmen!!!! No more sleeping in, and playing till wee hours of the night. It is going to be an exciting, and yet exhausting next couple of weeks. Until then..........

It's a year of change

Last December I had made the statement that 2008 was going to be a year of change. My amazing boyfriend and I met, he loves me just the way I am, and for who I am! My really good friend finally decided to leave Regis Salon and move on to bigger and better things. My grandpa died, who was in fact lucky to live as long as he did and I loved him very much. My best friend Kaley has new love in her life. My friend Sarah lost over 65 pounds, broke up with her boyfriend of 7 years, who by the way treated her not the way she deserved to be treated, and she also took over management of Regis Salon. Go Sarah go!! So whats next you are all wondering??? I'll tell you, it's my turn, and no I am not pregnant or engaged. It's my turn to reach for that star instead of gazing at it. It's my turn to move onto bigger and better things. That's right I am leaving the good old Regis. It's time. I have put in a long 5 and a half years, and well it's time to close that chapter and start a new one. Stars

I had an interview today with the salon owner of Shear's hair design, and lets just say we got along great. After one hour of chatting and getting to know one another, she offered me a chair in her salon. I am going to be full time, and have my own work space where I don't have share it with anyone. I get to be my own boss, and run my own books, and work as much or as little as I want to. I wont have to worry about getting time off when I need it, I am going to be able to finally call my own shots. If I want to go and meet up with the girls and have lunch that is longer then 30 minutes I get to!!!! I am excited to work in a place where I don't know anyone, a place where I have the opportunity to form new friendships, a place where I feel at home. So I must say that it has forsure been a year of change and I am looking forward to all of the change in the future. Future Ahead

Bride's hair

Here comes the bride!! And let me tell you she was smoldering hot, literally.Fire
© Photographer: Linkman | Agency: Dreamstime.com It was about 92 degrees up here is the great north west!! Yes I said 92. So I had a wedding party on Friday. It was so much fun, there was five bridesmaids, three flower girls, one fabulous mom and of course the bride to be. We started out at the bride's house at 8 A.M. and it was already a warm 78 degrees in her house. The heat kept esculating as the hours went by. All of us girls hung out I did the hair of course and we watched to olympics. Then at about 1 P.M. we packed up and headed over to the church where the brides mom served us lunch and cold berverages, bless her heart we were all wilted by then and needed the recharge.Wilting tulip
© Photographer: Tamara_k | Agency: Dreamstime.com Coffee would have been awesome but hey can't be picky when someone else is feeding you. After lunch the wedding cordinator took us to our room where the girls would get ready and i couldn't believe it, she put us in the one room out of the entire church that didn't have air conditioning!!!! We were not very happy campers. I still had four heads of hair to do and with hot curling irons and all that body heat it was miserable. But not to worry everyone made do, all of the girls hung in there, got ready and looked amazing!!! I got done around 4 in the afternoon and was ready to go home and peal off my jeans that had been sticking to me all day from the heat. When I walked in the door Chris asked how it went and I had to Pee so bad I said "hold that thought" I will be right back. I went to our bedroom and pealed off my jeans a sprawled out on the bed and put a fan directly on me and in a matter of minutes I was asleep. Chris comes in to see what happened to me and he was laughing at the state at which i was in. So he kindly let me nap.

The fun part of all of this is that Chris and I attended the wedding. It was a fun date night for us. And he got to see all of my hard work first hand. He said " Wow the bride looks like a barbie " meaning she looked perfect!!! We went to the reception had dinner and drinks, met some new people it was great and then headed home early because we both had to work in the morning. Guess what I had first thing on my books??? Yep another BRIDE!!!!!!

By now it is Saturday and I am thinking it is Sunday, after the long day of wedding endeavors from the day before. I had to work from 9 to 3, it went quick. We had a wedding party first thing. I had never met the bride and I am always hesitant when I have never met them. I like to get to know my brides, you know get a feel for their personality and see what there boundaries are in order to make there wedding day perfect. Luckily she was easy going and she loved her hair, go me!!! When I was done at the salon Chris and I met with my parents to sign papers on the apartment and then they came over to help take down the cabinets in the garage. It is sad to see my salon go but at the same time we are excited to be moving and get ahead. The five of us went to dinner at a restaurant called Speak Ezy. They serve really good BBQ. Lets just say it was a good and fun way to wrap up a long and tiring weekend. Today is Sunday and Chris and I are having our morning coffee and both are on our laptops!!! Hahah sound like anyone else you might know......Wouters. Two business people on laptops

Wedding Weekend!!!

Happy Brides With Big Rings
© Photographer: Madartists | Agency: Dreamstime.com

So let me tell you it's wedding season!!! Don't get me wrong I love wedding season but I had a bridezilla. I had just got done doing her second practice round and well I could pretty much feel that she was not to happy. Wait let me back up here, just to let you all know I do alot of weddings, and I mean alot!!!! But man this bride was about to get a beating. So here is the catcher, my best friend Kaley prepaid for the brides hair, it's her brothers fiance. So when I was done with her hair I called Kaley and told that I was not going to be responsible for her hating her hair on her wedding day. In our industry all it takes is one person to smear your good name!!!! Kaley totally understood and said she was sorry for the way that the bride was being, and didn't blame for not wanting to do her hair. Really it's not that I didn't want to do it, it's just sometimes you are not on the same page as they are. And in my opinion it's best to just bite the bullet and send them else where, that's right get to steppin bridezilla.......Wedding shoes and flowers

I Hate Painting Arrrrg

So our ordeal continues with the whole moving thing. Now we have to be out on the first and well our land lord is giving us grief for trying to hold to our rental agreement. Our rent is due on the 9th of every month there for our lease is the 9th to the 9th. And well we are being told that we need to be out on the 1st. I know right!!! I think that he is being hormoanal, him and his girlfriend are getting ready to have a baby and he is just getting all stressed out. Oh well can you do. SO we started painting today. I got almost the garage done. Ya I had to take my shop down and paint the garage walls. The thing I hate about painting is I get one coat into it and I am done, you know what I mean.

Needless to say there wasn't much going on here today. Although it was 80 degrees today whoo whooo!!!!

Possibility

So I today drove around and looked at apartments, and let me tell you what some of the stuff that I saw was just awful!!! There is no way I would pay what they were asking for. If I am going to be living in an apartment for the next 6 months to a year I want it to be cozy. So after running around all morning I finally came home and my awesome boyfriend walked in the door not to long after. I asked him if he would want to go and check out acouple of places so we did. We both wanted to stop at this one place, the girl was very nice and when she showed us one of the units we both looked at eachother and said lets take it!!!Word Yes
© Photographer: Rheo | Agency: Dreamstime.com
Keep your fingers crossed we may have found an apartment!!! It's a two bedroom two bathroom. With full size washer and dryer, and dishwasher. And it's only $800.00 a month, heck yeah!!! Also it's right down the street from where I work and it's about the same distance to Chris's work. So it would be ideal for all of this to work out. I mean could something please work out in our favor please, please. So stayed tunned for the update to come.........

Moving!!!!!

Boxes
© Photographer: Andresr | Agency: Dreamstime.com

Yes we are moving!!! I think that my sister may be rubbing off on me!! Except we are only moving to smaller living domain not a different state. To make a long story short our landlord had to refinance and our payments are going to be outregous!! So what it boils down to is we aren't able to make the monthly payment. Not to worry Chris and I are looking forward to all of the positive and good things to come out of this. We are going to down size and get a two bedroom apartment and be saving oh about $700.00 a month in which come next summer we want to purchase our own home instead of paying the ticket on someone else's . So today we went and purchased a five gallon of white paint, man paint is spendy and we got the master bathroom done and next weekend we are going to get the master bedroom done! Thank goodness we only painted those two rooms.

PIG
