Well we had a very quite and fun at home Christmas Eve. Chris worked on his boat and I worked on a scrap book as a gift for a friend. Oh don't forget the drinks that he had and wine that I had, and we watched The Christmas Story. It was great. So here are a few pictures of my handy work, with the drinks included of coarse........

So over the weather

So it has been snowing and icy weather here. It has for sure put a damper on working. But on the flip side Chris and I have been able to spend quality time together. Watching movies, cooking, cleaning and talking about the worlds problems, well maybe not the last one haha! But seriously I am ready for the weather to get back to normal and get back to work. I have watched enough movies and I thought I would actually say that, ha. Well until next time......maybe I will have more for you all.....

Yes yes we finally got our first snow. The news was calling for like ten inches on Friday night and my boyfriend wanted to see the first flurry so he stayed up until 3am to see it and nothing. Silly boy, but then it came last night. It was a dry and windy snow but it was cold. I believe it dropped to like 20 degrees burrrrrrr. Chris and I had a lovely night of movies and I made home made chili, and corn muffins it was great

We rented the new Batman, Dark Night. It was pretty good a little long but Heath Ledger sure did get into his role, maybe a little to much I could see what may have pushed him over the edge, may he rest in peace. And we also rented Fred Clause, that was funny. Vince Vaughn sure makes us laugh. Other then that not to much going on here, Kaley and I went to the nutcracker last weekend and I am waiting for her to send me pics so I will be blogging our trip to Seattle soon. Until next time folks.....

December One

Well everyone it's December 1st and it sure did sneak up on us. But I am so excited for this holiday season. I have a wonderful man in my life this year. Yep you all read this right I have a man in my life. He is amazing and I couldn't ask for anything more, and we are embarking on our one year!! Yep Yep this month is the start of our one year anniversary!! I can't believe it, this last year flew by.December

Chris and I have done alot in the first year of our relationship. I helped him and his son move up here to Bellingham. Then he helped me move out of the house I was house sitting and invited me to move in with him and his son. Then we took our first vacation together, where we survived 97 miles an hour wind storm, while camping in tents. Roughing it style, and I mean roughing it, for 5 days. Next we had to move out of the house we were renting and down sized to an apartment, oh lets not forget that Chris made a job change in there to be home more with his son and I. Not to long after we moved I myself made a job change to become my own business owner. And now we are coming up on a whole new year of adventures. I can't wait.

It's Begining to Look Alot Like Christmas

Chris and I have become official day after Thanksgiving of putting up Christmas tree and decorations. We found an awesome deal on our tree, yes we have a fake one. Hey you pay once and then you have it forever. Chris already had stuff for the tree, but I added a few things that reflect us. He loves the Eagles and I love the color silver, so I found really cute green hanging balls for the tree and we already had silver ones. So there you have it the Eagles colors of green and silver, and I love the silver. While at Joannes Fabric found some cheap decorations at %60 off, sweet huh! And of course I took pictures..........but please don't look at the white walls that is the joys of living in an apartment NO Color boo that.

Awww my Cute man!!! Doesn't he make the decorations look great haha!

This is a picture of Chris's mom, she is no longer with us so we wanted to give her, her own little place and the angels that we know are with her. She was a wonderful, beautiful woman full of love and compassion for her boys, life and everything that it brought her. Katherine you are in our hearts this holiday season and the many years to come.

Chris Starting to put together the tree isn't he so cute!!!

Thanksgiving at the Shenko's

We had an awesome Thanksgiving this year. It's Chris's and mine first holiday season together and it was perfect. Chris had decided that we were going to smoke a turkey and my mom was going to bake one. I was in charge of the desert and well the rest of the family brought sides. On Wednesday night Chris and I packed up our stuff and Tootsie! Toostie's mom had to work on Thanksgiving so I wanted to take her with us out to my parents were she would have a Thanksgiving to and be around people. She is the cutest wiener dog in the world and I am her auntie. Any who we stayed the night out at my parents house on Wednesday in seperate rooms of course, this way it was easier for Chris to smoke the turkey instead of having to transport everything the next day. Needless to say everything turned out great. My cousin Jamie brought her roommate Gene and he couldn't believe how good everything tasted, he said even though dinner was a turkey classic everything had so much flavor. I told him well that's what happens when you have a family that watches the food network to much, haha. So here are some pictures of our fun day hope all of you enjoy.

A little back pat to myself

I am going to take a moment and give myself a little back pat. I last week bought a really good pot roast at a good price, prepared it in the crock pot. That night Chris and I had an awesome dinner, with lots of left overs whoooo! And now it's Sunday and I had to do something with the left overs. So I was able to get 7 shredded beef burritos, and a huge pot of beef minestrone soup! We were able to get two big meals and Chris lunch for at least a week. Go me for making it spread out. I freeze burritos so all Chris has to do is go to the freezer in the morning and get his lunch, I also today got breakfast burritos made up for him and in the freezer. Man was I productive today or what!!!! Yes Chris is spoiled I know. Right now we are having some of the hot steamy beef stew and watching the Eagles vs NYG game. The Eagles are down so lets hope they come back.

Show Me the Money People

Man is it just me or has things been really slow around here? I feel that it is a very scary time when it comes to our countries economy. Many of my clients that I would normally see on a six to eight basis, I haven't seen in a hot minute. I feel that our industry has really been affected by our countries weakness to spend money we don't have. And the reality of this is, people are now having to cut back on their luxuries. I mean they have to, not that they want to, HAVE TO!!! Holding out till the last minute. But on the flip side of all this, it's making it really hard for us first time small business owners stay confident in the midst of the scariness. I know you have to start somewhere, and if you can survive a blurp like this then you can survive anything, blah blah. It would just be nice if things weren't so tight. I want to give a huge thanks to my faithful clients that I have seen since my move and the ones that I am going to see soon, and the ones that I will see in the future! But as for everyone else I understand, I am right there with you and I feel like I can speak for everyone when I say, can someone please just do something about the freakin economy so we all can get back to normal living.....

What It Means To Be In A family

I over the last week and a half have really evaluated what it means to be apart of a family. Being apart of a family means having a job to do just as much as the rest of your family. It means to take the good with the bad, whether or not you brought it on yourself or someone has brought it on you. It means taking pride in being apart of your family and taking responsibility for your actions, for they not only reflect you as a person but they reflect your family as a whole. It means receiving and giving tough love when it is needed. It means lifting each other up when times are rough. It means being able to talk to one another no matter what it may be about. It means being truthful and honest even though it may get you into trouble. For honesty will get you a whole lot further then a lie. It means stepping up to the plate when you just don't want to. It means having compassion for on another. It means loving one another even when you don't want to. It means facing consequences when you have messed up. It means learning from your mistakes and figuring out together how to move forward. It means sticking together no matter what it takes, for your family are the only people who will always be there for you, loving you, supporting you and willing to help you see things through. One of our family mattos is " Do what you know you are suspose to do in order to do what you want to do" But above all love one another just as Christ loved the church, unconditionally, with out judgment and with out fear.Thinking Word Collage about Family

Weekend Blur

Even though we didn't do much this weekend, it still went by way to quick. Both Chris and I worked on Saturday, well he worked longer then I did. I wasn't busy at all arrg. It seems that people are definitely cutting back on some life's luxuries. I haven't been this slow in our industry in the six years that I have been doing hair. So please who ever gets into office please, please do something about the economy. I need to do more hair people. So on Saturday we just stayed home and rented movies and I had a margarita or two and Chris had beer!!Three Margaritas

Our Fabulous Seafood Feast

One of my favorite things to have here in the great northwest is seafood boils!! My dad and Chris BBQ oysters in cilantro butter and in the boiling pot we had sauage, potatoes, mussels, shrimp, and corn on the cob!! Oh and don't forget the artichokes!!
It was fabulous.

Out for Kaley's Bithday!

This weekend was a busy one! My aunt from California was visiting and we went to the black forest for a fancy steak dinner!! And then the next night we went out for my bestfriends birthday. We had such a blast. We started at poppes and then headed downtown to shake our groove thangs. Then we had a really awesome seafood boil out at my parents house the next day.
